Enzyme Nutrition
Enzymes run the biochemical reactions in all living things, including humans, animals and raw foods. If it grows or ripens, it has enzymes. Enzymes are the “workers”. They are made by the DNA of every cell, and need “work”, the right pH, the right temperature, and a wet environment. According to enzyme research pioneer, Dr. Howard Loomis, Jr., there are three different types of enzymes: those that occur in our food, those that are made in our body for the digestion of food, and the metabolic enzymes made by every cell of the body for biophysical reactions. Without enzymes, we could not see, hear, think, walk or talk – never mind digest our food.
Food enzymes, found in raw foods, are destroyed or removed anytime food is cooked, processed, or genetically engineered for a longer shelf life. Foods lacking in enzymes require our own digestive enzymes to break the food down to an absorbable form. If we don’t have enough digestive enzymes, we borrow metabolic enzymes, because it is more important to get nourishment than it is to see, hear, think, walk or talk. Borrowing metabolic enzymes creates symptoms, because our systems and organs need metabolic enzymes as catalysts to create the functions of daily living.
The best illustration of the importance of adding enzymes back into our food is the “oatmeal test”. Cook oatmeal, pour it into two glasses, and add digestive enzymes to one glass. Within minutes, the thick oatmeal becomes thinner, illustrating the power of plant enzymes in the action of digestion. Another illustration is with mother’s milk. If you put formula in one glass and mother’s milk in the glass next to it, the glass of formula will still look like formula 30 minutes later, but the glass of mother’s milk will separate. The sediment at the bottom of the glass will be pooped out by the baby, and the fluid at the top of the glass will be absorbed. The baby fed formula will show signs of digestive stress.
Enzyme nutrition utilizes formulas made by Dr. Loomis that contain food for healing and enzymes for digestion. These formulas help digest food or boost nutrition. There are eight digestive formulas that help people with GERD, bloating, distention, gas, allergies, constipation, diarrhea and other digestive disorders. There are also nutritive formulas that contain food, herbs and plants to nourish the body that has been lacking nutrition due to poor digestion of protein, carbohydrates and/or fats. And the last set of formulas assist in the healing of the nervous system, the elimination system, the endocrine system, the immune system or chronic inflammation. Most of these formulas contain plant enzymes that do their work by bypassing a poor digestive system to deliver nutrients through the gut wall to the cells.
If you suffer from headaches, depression, anxiety, irritability, stiff sore joints, heartburn, indigestion, GERD, diarrhea, constipation, restlessness, insomnia, back pain, allergies, or weight control problems, the source of your stress could be poor digestion. Enzyme nutrition is far more effective than vitamins, minerals and supplements, because there are enough of the right enzymes in every capsule to digest the contents and deliver the nutrients.

Food
Food plays an important part in health and healing - - - but only if you digest it.
You will be adding plant enzymes to your food choices. The next question is – what food choices? Generally, there are three regimens that assist people with their personal digestive difficulties. One assists those with carbohydrate intolerance. The next assists those with protein and fat intolerance. The third type has difficulty with all three food groups, because the individual does not digest protein, fat, or carbohydrates due to too little or too much HCl production.
In addition to these considerations, prolonged digestive problems may manifest as headaches, gas and bloating, stiff sore joints, acid reflux, constipation or diarrhea, anxiety or depression, or insomnia. At Next Level Healing, we take into consideration those symptoms, and add specific foods to aid in their elimination.
For example, constipation is greatly aided with the addition of certain foods such as okra, blueberries, raw spinach, and wet organic fibers. If these foods are chewed well, and are raw and organic, the natural plant enzymes in the food are released to aid in digestion, and hence the relief of constipation. Addition of supplemental plant enzymes ensures digestion and activates the essential ingredients of foods intended to nourish organs and systems, and alleviate symptoms.
The final step at Next Level Healing is to choose the right foods, digest them, and take steps toward an environmentally enriching lifestyle.
